“Can AI Write My Website?” Unleash the Power of AI for Coaches, Trainers & Consultants

Insert Video

No, AI cannot write your whole website.

So…

You won’t enter a set of instructions in AI (prompts) and get a masterpiece website that can create your best clients.

When they promise you a platform to create your website and that AI will write it all, you need a ton of salt to take that. (Of course, AI can write words fast but that doesn’t mean that those are the words you need).

The good news…

If you have a solid system to write the words for your website, you can use AI as an assistant to your advantage.

My promise to you…

You’ll have everything you need to use AI as a trusted assistant for your website. I’ll show you my favorite ways to use AI (versus the ones that are a waste of time for businesses like ours). You’ll also get my favorite AI app and it might not be what you think.

So…

This assistant is a machine, so we have to decide what tasks this machine can help with.

Hear it from the mouth of your new assistant…

This is an excerpt from a chat with Gemini (Google’s AI) about this very topic:

Ana: Can you write my website?

Gemini: I can't write your entire website myself, but I can definitely be a valuable asset in the process!

Here's why...

AI can't capture your unique voice and expertise: While I can generate content, it won't have the same personal touch and in-depth knowledge you bring as a coach, consultant, and trainer.

Website building involves design and functionality: My strength lies in content creation. A website needs visual elements, navigation menus, and a platform to build it on.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind...

AI is a tool, not a replacement - Don't rely solely on AI-generated content. Use it to enhance your expertise and inject your own voice and personality.

Focus on user experience with empathy. Only you can do that.

Caveats and considerations before unleashing AI for your website (for coaches, trainers & consultants)

AI doesn't replace your expertise - While AI can generate content, it lacks the in-depth knowledge and experience you possess. Your website should reflect your unique voice, insights, and specific offerings.

Accuracy and fact-checking - AI relies on the information it's trained on. It's crucial to carefully review all AI-generated content for factual accuracy and verify information against trusted sources before publishing.

Creativity and emotional connection - Website content needs to be engaging and connect with your audience on an emotional level. While AI can be helpful for brainstorming and structure, injections of your personality, stories, and specific examples are essential.

Limited control over style and voice - AI can adjust its tone to some extent, but it may not always perfectly capture your unique writing style and voice. Proofreading and editing are essential to ensure consistency and professionalism.

3 unexpected tasks AI can help with…

You know how the conversation seems to be around push a button a get your whole website written, articles written, books written, courses written, sales pages, you name it.

This is going to be a huge waste of time because you’re going to get robotic (and inaccurate) content.

Now, you’re reading this because you know that I have personally written it with my human business experience.

These are 3 tasks AI can give you solid help with…

1. Keyword research

AI is a powerful tool for keyword research, and it can be particularly efficient for you as a coach, consultant, and trainer. Here's how AI can supercharge your website's keyword strategy…

Unearthing hidden gems…

AI tools can analyze vast amounts of search data to identify relevant keywords you might miss through manual research. This includes long-tail keywords with lower competition but targeted search intent, allowing you to attract potential clients who are actively looking for the services you offer.

AI can also consider searcher behavior and suggest related keywords that people who search for your primary keywords might also be interested in. This helps you create a comprehensive content strategy that captures a wider audience.

Prioritization and insights…

AI goes beyond simply generating keyword lists. It can analyze metrics like search volume, competition level, and estimated cost-per-click (for paid advertising) to help you prioritize which keywords to target first. This ensures you're focusing on keywords that will drive qualified traffic to your website.

Some AI tools offer competitor gap analysis, revealing keywords your competitors rank for but you don't. This allows you to identify potential content gaps and create targeted content to outrank them in search results.

Staying ahead of the curve…

AI can track search trends and identify emerging topics within your niche. This allows you to create content that addresses current needs and interests, keeping your website relevant and attracting new clients looking for the latest insights.

Integration with other tools…

Many AI keyword research tools integrate with content creation platforms or SEO analysis tools. This allows you to seamlessly integrate your keyword research with your content development process, ensuring your content is optimized for the keywords you've identified.

Overall, AI for keyword research helps you save time by automating data analysis and prioritization. It also provides valuable insights to make informed decisions about your website's content strategy, ultimately attracting more qualified leads and potential clients.

QUICK START – Next time you’re working on new content, start by asking for help from AI in the keyword research.

PROMPTS for keyword research…

Keyword research for your website

General website optimization
"Identify the top 50 keywords commonly searched for by my target audience related to [your niche] and coaching/training/consulting services."

"Suggest a mix of high-volume and long-tail keywords relevant to the services I offer on my website: [list your services]."

Competitor analysis
"Analyze the top 3 competitor websites in my niche and identify the keywords they are ranking for."

"Find keyword gaps between my website content and my competitors, focusing on keywords with medium search volume and low competition."

Keyword research for new content…

Blog post ideas
"Based on current search trends, suggest 10 blog post topic ideas optimized for relevant keywords that would attract potential clients for my [coaching/training/consulting] services."

"For a blog post about [specific topic], identify long-tail keywords that address common challenges faced by my target audience."

Landing page optimization
"Help me identify the primary keyword** and supporting keywords** to optimize my landing page for my [coaching/training/consulting program]."

"Suggest keywords with high purchase intent** to target on my landing page for my [service/product]."

PRO TIPS - Combine AI with manual research. While AI tools provide valuable suggestions, manually reviewing the keyword search volume, competition level, and relevance is crucial.

Consider long-tail keywords - Don't just focus on high-volume keywords. Long-tail keywords with lower competition can still attract qualified leads.

Target informational and transactional keywords - Use a mix of informational keywords (e.g., "how to improve communication skills") that attract potential clients looking for information, and transactional keywords (e.g., "executive communication coaching") that target those ready to invest in your services.

2. Research

Yes, you can use AI to do research for your website, from market research to research for new content that you want to create.

Prompts for research assistance…

General research…
"Find credible sources** on [topic] relevant to my target audience of [target audience description]."

"Provide data and statistics** to support the following claim: [insert a statement related to your industry]."

Specific research…
"Research the pros and cons of [method/approach] related to [your field]."

"Find case studies** demonstrating the effectiveness of [service/approach] you offer."

Ensuring accuracy…

Source inclusion - Ask AI to include citations or links to the original sources of all information it provides. This allows you to verify accuracy and add credibility to your website content.

Example with instructions…

Prompt…
Find credible sources on the benefits of improving communication skills for professionals in the tech industry. Ensure all sources are linked and come from reputable websites like academic journals, industry publications, or government websites

3. Titles

AI is a machine that works well with formulas. Titles and headlines are formulas.

You can ask AI for help to suggest titles for your content.

This is what I do…

Hi, I’m writing an article about [topic]. This is my [target audience]. Can you suggest 10 titles for the article that include keywords? Can you specify which keywords are included in each title?

Instructions…

Specify content type - Tell AI what type of content you're creating (e.g., blog post, landing page, website section).

Target audience - Briefly describe your ideal client to help AI tailor the headline tone and message.

Main keyword - Provide the primary keyword you want to target in the title.

Prompts for different content types…

Blog posts
Intriguing question - "Generate 5 blog post titles in the form of questions using the keyword [your keyword] that pique reader curiosity and address a common challenge faced by my target audience." (e.g., "Stuck in a Productivity Rut? 5 Ways to Reignite Your Focus with [Your Keyword]")

Benefit-oriented - "Craft 3 blog post titles including the keyword [your keyword] that highlight the benefits readers will gain from this content." (e.g., "[Your Keyword]: The Secret Weapon to Achieve Your [Desired Outcome]")

Numbered lists - "Generate 4 blog post titles using the keyword [your keyword] formatted as numbered lists, showcasing the steps or strategies you provide in the post." (e.g., "5 Powerful [Your Keyword] Tips to Transform Your [Area of Expertise]")

Landing pages
Clear value proposition - "Create 3 landing page titles featuring the keyword [your keyword] that clearly communicate the value proposition of your service or product." (e.g., "Unlock Your Potential with [Your Service Name] - [Benefit]")

Call to Action (CTA) integration - "Generate 2 landing page titles with the keyword [your keyword] that incorporate a strong call to action, encouraging visitors to take the next step." (e.g., "[Your Keyword] Now: Download Your Free Guide and Start Transforming Today")

Specificity and urgency - "Craft 4 landing page titles using the keyword [your keyword] that highlight the specific benefits and create a sense of urgency for visitors to act." (e.g., "Limited Spots Left! Master [Skill] with Our [Your Service Name] Program - [Keyword]")

PRO TIPS - Headline length: Keep headlines concise and easy to read on various devices.

Keyword placement - Strategically place the keyword at the beginning of the title for optimal search engine optimization (SEO).

And my favorite AI app…

At the time of this article, I heart Gemini from Google.

Here’s why…

Both ChatGPT and Gemini are strong AI language models that can offer valuable assistance with website writing, but they each have their strengths and weaknesses for coaches, trainers, consultants, and independent service professionals (CTC). Here's a breakdown to help you decide which might be a better fit:

Strengths of ChatGPT:

Engaging conversational tone - ChatGPT excels at generating content with a natural and conversational flow, which can be beneficial for some website sections like "About Us" or blog posts.

Emotional intelligence - Studies suggest ChatGPT has a slight edge in understanding and incorporating emotional intelligence** into its writing, potentially making content more relatable.

Established third-party integrations - ChatGPT is more widely integrated with third-party business applications, potentially offering a smoother workflow** if you use other productivity tools.

PERSONAL NOTE – Even if ChatGPT is more conversational and might be better at engaging, it is still a machine and you get text that reads “fake”.

Since I don’t use AI to write for me, what I need is accuracy. That’s why I heart Gemini from Google.

Strengths of Gemini…

Factual accuracy - Gemini has superior access to real-time information and delivers content with higher factual accuracy. This is crucial for people like us who rely on up-to-date information in their niche.

Content quality management tools - Gemini offers built-in tools to review and manage content quality, potentially saving time compared to relying solely on external editing tools.

Focused user experience - Gemini is designed specifically for Google products and services, offering a seamless experience if you heavily utilize Google tools within your website creation process.

So…

If your top priority is engaging, conversational content, and you're comfortable with fact-checking and editing, ChatGPT might be a good choice.

If accuracy and access to real-time information are essential, and you value built-in quality management tools, Gemini could be a better fit.

Of course, you can always try both AI tools and see which one feels more intuitive and aligns better with your website writing needs. Many platforms offer free trials or limited use options to allow you to experiment.
